U21s Conquer Kiwis

The Australian U21 team have won the first round of the Trans Tasman series at SIRC last weekend. The final day of competition, saw some very competitive racing between the U21 New Zealand and Australian Rowing Team Eights. In the final race of the regatta, and one of the closest, the Men’s 8+ coxed by SRC’s George Davis, came away with a win, beating off a final charge from the Kiwis. These results saw Australia extend their lead to a 15 point margin at the end of competition, with 146 points and New Zealand 131. These points will carry over to the second round of the series to be conducted at Lake Karapiro, New Zealand from 8 – 10 September.
